Although a new & rather peculiar name to fall on people’s ears, the minds behind Dungeon Meat have been on the scene for much longer, consistently turning heads either through their energetic DJ sets or chart topping music productions. Tristan da Cunha, a name synonymous with legendary house institutes Backtobasics and 2020 Vision and Brawther of MLIU / Balance decided to get in the studio to make music they want to play and that holds a certain attitude in the way it sounds and how it’s presented.
Dungeon Meat slammed into the underground’s collective consciousness making themselves known with one solid blow. Their debut release ‘The Fuck Off Track’ on the superlative My Love Is Underground saw them dominate the number 1 spot and became 2013’s best selling house record on Juno. Now with a new label under the same name they look set to make an even bigger impact with their hard hitting sound. Disregarding the usual common formulas of house music, it’s hard to box the boys into one particular category… The only pigeon hole they can be placed in is solid underground club music. With their tracks regularly finding their way into a broad spectrum of DJ’s sets it’s clear that their intention to ignore sub genres has meant support from all corners of the underground.
2014 promises to be an equally trail blazing year with new ep for the Dungeon Meat label on the horizon, their debut live show at Fabric, a remix for Classic music company and more heat on MLIU should keep the buzz around this promising new project .
